When there is a collection date missed due to a holiday, your regular garbage collection day is bumped back 1 day (i.e. if Memorial Day is on Monday, garbage is collected on Tuesday, Tuesday’s garbage is then collected on Wednesday, Wednesday’s garbage is collected on Thursday and Thursday’s garbage is collected on Friday). If the holiday is on a Wednesday, for instance, Wednesday's collection will be on Thursday and Thursday's collection will be on Friday. If the holiday falls on a Friday, Friday pickup would be bumped up to Thursday.
