What's Up In The Parks?

Summer Park Reservations:

Reservations for city park shelters and picnic areas for the summer of 2012 can be arranged with the Parks and Recreation Department starting January 16, 2012.  A $30.00 deposit, appropriate form, and reservation fee is required at time of registration.

Ice Skating Rink:

Veterans Park ice rink is flooded and maintained as weather permits.

This fall, Ewing Drive through Willowbrook Park will be resurfaced & widened to include a walking/biking lane. This path will be extended off-road through the park playground area and travel across the walking bridge before meeting up with the Hwy. 60 east bike trail that continues on to Pike Lake.

GONE FISHING:

Urban Fishing Laws - Hartford Mill Pond: 

Only persons under 16 years or those with resident disabled fishing license may fish on designated urban fishing waters during the special season.  Dates of the special season will be posted at all designated urban fishing waters.

 

 

 
Dog Park:

The City's dog park area, located south of the baseball diamonds at Independence Park, has been going through a number of changes. The designated off-leash area is being fenced in. Amenities such as a waste station, canopy bench and other benches will be added by Eagle Scout Caleb Jordan as part of his Eagle Scout project.

Bernd Park:

This park site, located between the Recreation Center and City Hall along the Rubicon River, will be graded, seeded and landscaped over the Fall. Walk/bike trails and park benches will be added for enjoyment of this small green-space along the river.

Memorial Trees:

A living memorial can be planted in honor of a loved one or friend in one of the City Parks. Contact the Parks and Recreation office at 670-3730 for details on costs and plantings. Plantings will be done during the spring and fall seasons.
