What's Up In The Parks?

Announcement:  "BORLEN PARK" NAME RECOMMENDED

The Hartford Parks & Recreation Commission recently voted in favor of a name recommendation "Borlen Park" for a 3.9 acre site on the corners of Big Bend Drive and Yellowstone Drive in the Borlen Farms subdivision.  The site will be developed into a neighborhood park.

Any public comment for this proposed park name is welcomed.  Additional park site names will be considered, however, they must be submitted in writing with supporting information.  If you have comments you can contact the Parks & Recreation Office at 673-8226 or mail them by January 4, 2010 to:

Summer Park Reservations:

Reservations for city park shelters and picnic areas for the summer of 2010 can be arranged with the Parks and Recreation Department beginning January 15, 2010.  A $30.00 deposit, appropriate form, and reservation fee is required at time of registration.  Phone registrations are not accepted.

Hartford City Band:

Rooms For Rent:

The Recreation Center has rooms available to rent for parties or meetings.  Inquire about our fees and availability. (262) 673-8226

GO FISHING:

Urban Fishing Laws - Hartford Mill Pond:  Only persons under 16 years or those with resident disabled fishing license may fish on designated urban fishing waters during the special season.  Dates of the special season will be posted at all designated urban fishing waters.

Memorial Trees:

A living memorial can be planted in honor of a loved one or friend in one of the City Parks. Contact the Parks and Recreation office at 673-8226 for details on costs and plantings. Plantings will be done during the spring and fall seasons.

Ice Skating Rinks:

Veteran's Park ice rink is flooded and maintained as weather permits.
